How it works

  • Prices are each provider's published monthly list price per person, read from their pricing pages on the date shown.
  • Employer of record covers people who are legally employed by the provider in their own country on your behalf.
  • Contractor management covers independent contractors you work with directly. With contractor of record, the provider takes on the contract and the compliance risk that comes with it.
  • Annual contracts and volume discounts are negotiated privately, so real quotes for larger teams can come in lower.

Frequently asked questions

What is an employer of record?

An employer of record (EOR) is a company that legally employs a worker in their country on your behalf. It issues the local contract and handles payroll, taxes, benefits and compliance, while you direct the person's day-to-day work. It lets you hire abroad without opening your own company in that country.

Is it cheaper to hire someone as a contractor than through an EOR?

In platform fees, yes, by a wide margin. Contractor management costs $29 to $49 a month per person, against $599 for an EOR employee. The catch is misclassification. If a contractor works like an employee, local authorities can treat them as one and charge back taxes and penalties, which is why contractor-of-record and indemnity options exist.

Why are only Deel and Remote in the calculator?

They publish their list prices, so the numbers can be checked. Several other providers only quote after a sales call. A provider is added once its prices are public and have been checked against its own pricing page.
